What types of charging stations and connectors are available?
Types of charging stations and connectors can be found on our website.
Are all electric vehicles the same regarding charging compatibility?
Although most electric vehicles can use standard charging connectors, there are differences in charging standards. The most common standards are CCS (combined charging system), CHAdeMO and Type 2. It is essential to check the charging compatibility of your electric vehicle model and ensure that the charging station you intend to use supports the same standard. Many newer electric vehicle models are designed to be compatible with multiple charging standards, which provides users with greater flexibility.
How much does charging cost / where can I find the price list?
Charging prices vary depending on the power type of connector with which you want to charge and are charged according to the transferred electrical energy. After a certain time interval, an additional tariff on excess minutes is also charged, which is intended to encourage users to move the charged vehicle and thereby free the space for another electric vehicle. Petrol e-charging stations can be used in two ways:
As a registered user - Available in the OneCharge mobile application and by using a physical or business Petrol e-mobility card. The option is intended for all who use our charging stations regularly, as only in this way will you be able to enjoy all the advantages of our service. You will be able to charge your vehicle more favourably, and at the same time monitor your transactions, usage history and optimise charging – in the application search only for connectors that are compatible with your vehicle.
As an anonymous user - Available in the OneCharge web application, by purchasing occasional charging at a sales point or by using a payment terminal. The option is intended for all who charge their e-vehicle with us only occasionally and wish to remain anonymous during use.
What are charging packages and what are their benefits?
Petrol charging packages enable users more favourable and more predictable charging of electric vehicles. By choosing a package, you ensure a better charging price, either with a pre-purchased quantity of kWh or with a discount on the regular price, and at the same time you have better overview over costs and consumption. Packages are especially suitable for users who regularly charge a vehicle and want a simple, transparent and cost-effective solution.
Why is my vehicle charging at a lower power than indicated?
The maximum power that a charger can reach is always specified on the charger. However, it largely depends on the maximum charging power (capability) of the vehicle and on the actual state of charge of the battery in the vehicle itself. As a rule, the fuller the battery is, the slower the charging will be. Battery temperature also plays an important role in charging power – if it is not at optimal levels, the vehicle will regulate the charging power itself.
I have another provider’s charging card. Can I charge in the Petrol network?
Most charging providers offer their own app or list of compatible charging stations. If cooperation with Petrol exists, Petrol stations will be visible in their system. Otherwise, you may test card recognition or contact your provider. Alternatively, register temporarily in the OneCharge app and pay by bank card.
Where can I charge abroad with OneCharge or Petrol card?

A third method is charging via payment terminals, which are available at selected electric charging station locations.
How do charging prices differ for non-registered users compared to registered users?
Charging prices are lower for registered users. You are invited to view the price list.
5. Payments, Held Funds and Billing
Why were funds reserved before charging started and when will they be released?
When using a bank card as a payment method, funds are reserved to ensure that the user has sufficient funds in their account.
The pre-authorisation amount depends on the charger type:
€20 for AC (slow) chargers
€50 for DC (fast and ultra-fast) chargers
This is not a charge but a pre-authorisation. The funds are reserved by the card-issuing bank.
Immediately after the charging session ends, the difference between the actual charging cost and the pre-authorised amount is released on our side. The bank then returns the funds to your account.
In most cases, the pre-authorisation is released by the bank within ten minutes after charging ends, although in some cases the release time may be longer depending on the bank’s general terms and conditions.
What amount is reserved before charging as a form of pre-authorisation?
The pre-authorisation amount depends on the charger type:
€20 for AC chargers.
€50 for DC chargers.
Where can I view invoices?
Invoices for your charging sessions can be viewed in:
The OneCharge mobile application under “Past sessions → Invoices”.
The email address used during registration.
The OneCharge web application under “Download invoices”.
Monthly invoices if using a Petrol Club e-mobility payment card.
By scanning the QR code on the payment terminal screen at the end of the session.
6. Purchase and Installation of a Home Charging Station
Basic concepts
What does the term “smart charger” mean and do I need it?
f you want to optimise costs and energy, a smart charger is a good investment. Smart chargers enable control via an application for dynamic management, time scheduling of charging, monitoring of consumption and possible integration with a solar power plant. Such a charger can, through a dynamic management module, communicate with the house, the car and has an OCPP connection (connection to the internet). In our portfolio at Petrol we offer smart chargers (Etrel, ABB, Inch-pro, Litebox...). If the charger is basically not “smart”, but rather more “basic”, it charges according to the set power in the charging station itself, and the charging power does not adjust.
Costs and subsidies
Is charging at home cheaper?
Yes – even more so when the night tariff is used.
What about purchase subsidies – what are the conditions and how do I use them?
For current subsidies, additional information, the application and instructions for completing the application form, visit the website.
The current Borzen subsidy (data from: January 2026) is intended for natural persons who wish to install an electric charging point for their own needs at their permanent residence in the Republic of Slovenia. In connection with the subsidy, you are entitled to non-refundable funds for a maximum of two charging points, and the charger must be installed at the address of your permanent residence and must be intended for the applicant’s own use. The purchase of a home e-charger with included installation and certified measurements is subsidised, which we provide comprehensively at Petrol.
Can I use the subsidy for all e-chargers or are there limitations?
Yes, you can use the subsidy for all chargers available in the eShop, except when purchasing a portable charging station.
Technical requirements and compatibility
What charging power do I need?
The power of the charger (e.g. 3.7 kW, 7.4 kW, 11 kW) determines the charging speed. If you have a three-phase connection, 11 kW is the optimal choice. With a single-phase connection, the maximum is 7.4 kW. It is important to check what your home electrical installation allows.
The dynamic load management module (DLM) ensures that charging of your vehicle is adapted to the electricity consumption in the house at a given moment. When electricity consumption increases, the charging power decreases, and when electricity consumption decreases, the charging power of the electric vehicle increases. This enables the fastest possible charging according to the power of your main fuses in the house.
Do I need three-phase current?
If you have a three-phase connection, a three-phase charger enables faster charging. If not, you can remain with a single-phase one. An upgrade to a three-phase connection is possible, but requires additional costs.
Are Petrol chargers compatible with solar power plants?
With surplus energy from a solar power plant, you will be able to charge your car and save on costs. The Trydan Pro home electric charger is compatible with most well-known inverter manufacturers Solaredge, Huawei, SunSynk, Deye, Solax, Fronius, Victron, Goodwe, Solis, Enphase, Sungrow, SMA Sunny, Growat and MQTT. Via phone you connect to the application, where it is visible how much energy comes from the grid, how much energy is produced by the sun and how much is received by the car. It allows setting different time blocks with different levels of energy draw from the grid and different charging modes.
Will the charger also suit my next vehicle?
All charging stations we offer are compatible with all car manufacturers, as they are universal (Type 2 connection). If you expect multiple vehicles, choose a charger with the possibility of upgrade or connection with multiple units.
Time aspect
How long does charging take?
From a few hours to overnight, depending on the power of the charger and the occupancy of the battery in the car (depending on the state of charge of the battery).
What is the delivery time of the e-charger? How long after delivery is the inspection and installation planned?
We can provide inspection and installation of the charger within three weeks from order confirmation.
Installation and safety
The price includes basic installation of the e-charger. In which cases is it considered extensive installation?
In cases where the customer requires a supply line to the place where the charging station will be installed and all necessary modification in the electrical cabinet.
Basic installation includes:
Technical start-up and testing of the charging station.
Presentation of proper and safe use of the charging station.
Transport and delivery of the charger throughout Slovenia included.
Can I install the charger myself?
We recommend professional installation for safety and quality of execution. Our team has many years of experience in this field; we have equipped several hundred homes with e-chargers. Preparation of the location can be carried out by a local electrician; instructions for preparation can be found in the eShop store in the description of the selected e-charger.
How to ensure charger safety?
You contribute most to safety with professional installation, proper protection (RCD switch and circuit breaker), a quality certified charger and regular supervision. At Petrol, chargers comply with legally defined standards, and professional installation is carried out by authorised personnel.
For fire safety, installation of the charger on a non-combustible base or on a pedestal and the use of a cable of appropriate cross-section are recommended. It is important that the charger enables dynamic power management, which prevents grid overload. It must also have mechanical protection of at least IP54, be regularly inspected and maintained, and comply with all relevant standards.
