The economic recession which marked the Petrol Group’s business operations in 2009 also affected the operations carried out in the first six months of 2010. In view of the current economic situation, the performance of the Petrol Group has been estimated as successful.
The Petrol Group sold 1.1m tonnes of oil products in the first six months of 2010, down 4% from the same period of the previous year and 4% more than planned. Revenues from sales of merchandise amounted to EUR 205m, 11% above the figure achieved in the same period of 2009 and 6% more than planned. At the end of June 2010, the Petrol Group operated 436 service stations, of which 312 in Slovenia, 75 in Croatia, 40 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, 3 in Serbia, 4 in Kosovo and 2 in Montenegro.
In the first six months of 2010, the Petrol Group operated 28 gas supply concessions. In the first six months of 2010, the Petrol Group sold 59,346 thousand m3 of natural gas, exceeding by 4% the level of sales achieved in the same period of 2009 and by 7% the planned quantities, and 22 thousand tonnes of liquefied petroleum gas, down 1% from the same period of the previous year and 4% less than planned. The Petrol Group sold 170 thousand MWh of electricity, exceeding by 50% the quantities sold in the same period of the previous year and by 7% the planned quantities.
Net profit generated in the first six months of 2010 is estimated at EUR 22 million, up 20% from the planned figure, and is better than in the same period of 2009 when the Petrol Group generated a net profit of EUR 8.7 million.
The Supervisory Board of Petrol d.d., Ljubljana will discuss the report on Petrol Group’s performance in the first six months of 2010 at its meeting scheduled to take place at the end of August 2010. After the meeting, the complete report will be published on the company’s website and on the Ljubljana Stock Exchange SEOnet.
